The Sudanese Human Rights Group (Huqooq) team’s documentation with Mohammad Kamal (16 years old), known as (Max Ombada), who was targeted by the security authorities and killed with live bullets in the demonstration that took place in Omdurman Tuesday July 26 2022.
This testimony comes as part of a human rights study, through which many documents and testimonies were collected that confirms the Sudanese security authorities’ systematic targeting campaigns against some actors in the resistance committees and youth groups opposing the 25th of October coup. Researchers at Huqooq gathered numerous testimonies from demonstrators and eyewitnesses which confirm allegations that the Sudanese security forces monitored some demonstrators in processions and peaceful protests, and then targeted them in a systematic and direct manner with live bullets, or causing fatal injuries and permanent disabilities from the use of rubber bullets and cartridge rifles.
Below is an audio statement from Muhammad Kamal, which was recorded by the Huqooq team before his death, documenting his gunshot wound by the security authorities in the June 2, 2022 demonstration in Omdurman, in addition to the repeated attempts to target him during the demonstrations and protests that followed the October 25th coup.
